MONDAY JUNE 16, 2014 MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN

Beautiful day today.  Sunshine and no rain!!  Drove to Marquette which is east of Van Riper Park where we are camped.  On a quest to see watterfalls, found this one.  Drove downabout  a mile on a dirt road until we would not be able to pass in the holes!!!   Parked off the side and walked  over 1/2 mile.... a slight elevation.

We reached the fall.  Mike walked over the logs to the other side to get pics.  I was chicken, even though it was ankle deep.  Well, I didn't want to get my tennies wet!

It was very nice.  Water super cold.  Mike met some kids camping and they said they got in the water yesterday.  After that exhilerating walk back to the car, and working off that Muffin from BABYCAKES in town,  we drove through PRESQUE ISLE.  Beautiful drive and we had fun at the grainy sand and pebble beach.  Sand and stones were hot and the water C O L D!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MACHO MAN AGAIN

OOPS!!!!!!! The NOT SO macho man................tender foot.

finding pretty stones on Lake Superior
 a small lighthouse

Ummmmmmmmm, not really.

Shine it up, Mikey!!!!  This is the patina on the worlds largest glacial copper.  It is green but began as copper and developed this patina over time.
 Iron Ore  docks .

The architecture here is beautiful.  This is the Methodist church.

A shot of downtown.

City Hall...more beautiful in person.  Dark red in color.

This dome is made of wood from the area and on the Northern Michigan U. campus in town.
