SOUTH TEXAS RENEGADE RALLY MARBLE FALLS APRIL 2015
Ended our spring 2015 trip with Southeast Texas Renegade Rally in the midst of the Texas Bluebonnets in MARBLE FALLS. The best of the best in Bluebonnets!!! From one extreme to the other!!! This was the weekend of the Bluebonnet Festival in Burnet with vendors on the square and also, Paint The Town in Marble Falls.
Mike and I took a bluebonnet drive to Longhorn Cavern State Park to check out camping and bluebonnets.
This building was built in the 30's by Corps of Engineer people.

We didn't take the cavern tour but checked out the entrance, which was beautiful.
Unfortunately, no photos....but we were parked at Sunset Point RV Park . All around the area are mounds rising out of the earth of PINK TEXAS GRANITE. One at the edge of our park was a good place to pick up pieces for our yards. Linda E, Marcie Gillie and I dug around and found nice pieces of Quartz. The man at the park said we could have a nice piece from the pile in the park.....only one!!
We sure had a good time. I'm a rock hunter for sure, now!!!
