JULY 30-AUG 1, 2013 DOOR COUNTY WISCONSIN

Rolled on down the road to Door County.  Small, quaint little towns, old buildings, very patriotic, gorgeous flowers.

Stopped on the way at a Cheese storeMMmmmmm......didn't know what to pick!!!  But, Mike did!!!!!!!!!!
Did get  some chocolate made with cheese.....YUM!!

Really too cool for the pool....70's daytime, cloudy and 50's at night....not missin' Texas heat!!!!

Today we drove around the peninsula thru the little towns...looked for lighthouses but could never get to them!!!

JULY 28-29, 2013 WISCINSIN DELLS

Traveled to the Dells of Wisconcin.

Next day toured the Dells.....great place for family....lots to do!!!

Had lunch at MOOSE JAW!!

Of course, Mike had to be a little BULL.............I mean....WINKLE!!!!

then.....a Duck boat ride....these  type were used in WW11...amphibious boats.

18ft dam which held back the man made lake, but in 2008 torential rains eroded the hiway just behind us and emptied the lake, tore away the road as well as several homes.  Hiway has since been rebuilt.

JULY 27, 2013 MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA

Slept in and got a late start....I cooked a good breakfast of bacon and cheese omlets.  Went to MALL OF AMERICA in Minneapolis!!!
So many sales....started Christmas shopping!!
Nickelodeon Universe in the center of 4 story mall.

Went to Vera Bradley store, Brighton ...ate ribs at 'Tony Roma's!!!MMmmmm!!!!!

JULY 26, 2013 ON THE ROAD AGAIN to MINNESOTA!!!

Left Iowa and headed for Minnesota....beautiful rolling, green hills of crops.  Camping at St. Paul East RV park for 2 nites.  IT IS COLD HERE!!!!!! We wore jackets in Iowa, too!!!!  Raining every evening.  Mike, we are not in Texas anymore!!!!!!
Stopped at Cabela's and got some great pics of their wild life displays............awesome!!!

JULY 20-26, 2013 GRAND NATIONAL RALLY, FOREST CITY, IOWA

Well, the fun of GNR is over and we had a great time with fellow Winnebago owner RVers and all the folks in the Texas row. The town of Forest City, Iowa had a Puckerbrush Festival and it begins with a parade.

The theme was Wild Wild West......her is our Texas Group on  our float...Riding in the parade was a lot of fun...that town knows how to have fun...people sitting everywhere all down ther streets...and friendly!!

Each state represented at GNR has a tent at end of the row of our RV's.  Decorations are judged and prizes awarded.  We made and decorated a saloon for the theme.  Texas WON 1st place!!!!  I think the fact that our saloon was MANNED (and WOMANED) helped.  But it was cool!!!
