COLORADO SPRINGS!!!! 6-25-2017

Pulled into Golden Eagle Ranch Campground yesterday here in Colorado Springs. We will hang out here for a few days before we drive to Creede. Today we took a tour of the May Natural History Museum which is right here at the campground. It is the largest collection of bugs and insects in the world. Travis came over and visited with us and stayed for dinner. Today we had a little rain with multiple rainbows afterwards.  The Museum started as  a traveling show then planted at Weeki Washi in Florida.  Disney wanted to purchase it and it was not for sale so they moved to here.  It's irreplaceable but worth 4-6 million.

Some of the insects date back to 1907.  Walt Disney offered to buy the whole display but he would not use John Mays name,  Was a no go,  Irreplaceable but estimated to be worth 4-6 million!!!!

It was so nice to have one of my sons here and to fish with him.,...even tho we didn't catch anything!!

THE LINCOLN HIWAY KEARNEY, NEBRASKA JUNE 23, 2017

Before Kearney, we went thru small town of about 800 people, ALMA , NEB!!!!

THE ARCHWAY ON THE LINCOLN HIWAY.  GO IN ONE SIDE AND THE MUSEUM GOES  TO CENTER OF ARCH WITH A RADAR SET UP  IN A LARGE WINDOW TO WATCH THE TRAFFIC.

During all this travel and sightseeing....Kari  is having testing on her non-hodgkins lymphoma.  She's very positive and waiting for her Momma to get there for her treatment she'll have monthly for a few months.

ONWARD......... TO COLORADO!!!!!! JUNE 22, 2017

Winnie Service got done with our coach by noon on Thur. after working on it for a day and a half.........seven items on my list and got them done in record time. We left that afternoon and made our way to Colorado staying at Cobb Memorial Park in Ida Grove, IA on Thur, Kearney RV Park in Kearney, NE last night and Outback RV Park in Burlington, CO tonight. Tomorrow we will be staying in Colorado Springs for several days before heading to Creede. While in Kearney we visited the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument which spans I-80. Inside the arch is a museum that shows you the migration of settlers from the east to California in the early 1800's. We also learned about the first coast to coast highway, the Lincoln Highway which I learned about in school but forgot.
