TUESDAY MARCH 29, 2016

Hey, hey, hey!!  Sunday nite in Liberal, Kansas at Seven Winds RV, good for only one night!!  On to New Mexico!!  Stayed on ROUTE 66!!  Cactus RV, the lot in the center of an old motel.  Went to TEPEE CURIOS and  drove Tucumcari looking at murals and retro buildings.  At dark we went back to photo some of the retro signs.  Neat place!   Sent Mikie for donuts this a.m.

Headed to Albequerque. American RV.  Wind very high/  Started flipping our awnings on the drivers side.  Had to slow way down.  Stopped at Clines Corner for a break and FUDGE!!!  Got a 2 week laundry done with bed change.  Something fun here tomorrow!!

MARCH 26, 2016 WITCHITA, KANSAS

Drove to Goddard, Kansas, just east of Witchita.  no problems, sprinkled on us part way.  stopped at Wally world.....camping at ALL SEASONS RV

March 25, 2016 ON TO CALIFORNIA

Hung around the service center yesterday after a big snow storm during the night.  Thunder and lightening....woke up to about a 6 inch snow..... beautiful.   Breakfast at Bills Grocery with Debbie and Dan from Wisc.  Showed us some bear pics from his back yard!!!!

Dinner at Shooters with Roger Smith and Karen Faulkner from Kittery Point, Maine.  Really enjoyed their company.  Karen is a retired Airline Captain and is a hoot!!!!  Roger is very sweet and quiet.  Love ya, Karen!!!!

Left this morning to head south.  Landed in Cameron, Missouri area at the Pony Express RV Park.  Quiet here as the park is not really open yet, though there are people here.

MARCH 23, 2016 back to Forest City

Had a wonderful breakfast at the B& B and great visit with Steve, the owner, and other guests, Kent and Staphanie.  Steve had good stories about past guests, especially Maureen O'Hara, who slept in our room!!
Drizziling as we drove back to Forest City after going to one more bridge and Francescas house, now locked by gate.  Got some good pics from the road.  When we got to FC, sleeting!!!  Service told us not to put slides out due to high gusts and snow.  We are all closed up and cozy!

March 22, 2016. BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY

Service needs our coach overnite.  Ate breakfast at Bills grocery and headed south toWinterset, Iowa in Madison County.  Chamber had all we needed.  We drove around to 5 of the 6 covered bridges here.  Also, went thru the birth home of John Wayne and museum.
Tonight we are staying at HEAVENLY HABITAT.  A church converted to living quarters for owners in the sanctuary and 2 rooms with baths for B&B.  MAUREEN O' HARA slept in our bed!!!  She had been here for a birthday celebration for John Wayne that's held yearly.

March 21, 2016 Forest City, Iowa

Today had to be at the service door for 7 a.m.  EARLY!!!!!!  Oh well, they had coffee!!  Met Karen and Roger from Maine, arrived about the time we did yesterday.  They were lost, didn"t know where to park last night.  Karen says,"'NOW WHAT?"  I said come on and go to breakfast with us at Sally's.  Had nice time, good conversation,  They have hookups at their home in Maine AND says she cooks the best lobster!!!! Know where we're going in Maine!!!!

Drove to West Bend today to see the Grotto of the Redemption/,his is basically the stations of the cross built with mosaic tiles and stones from all over the US and other countries.  Beautiful!!! Museum wasn't open but gift store was, YAY!!!  Also went into the Church there to see the Christmas Chapel.....a nativity, within the church, and listened to the audio on it's history of a priest who envisioned and built it in the early 1900's.

On the way home we found THE BRANDING IRON.  Prime Rib tonight!!!  We've eaten here with Winni friends before....Thompson, Iowa.

MARCH 20, 2016 ALTOONA, IOWA

After a night in Griffs Valley View RV Park, we went to church at Altoona FUMC.  They had a wonderful narrated musical of contemporary music.  We returned to the coach and headed to Forest City, Iowa for maintenance check up and repairs.  Partly cloudy day to travel...no snow or rain today!!
Boy is our car nasty from the snow and rain.  It's now brown instead of blue!!!

Arriving at Service  we decided to park on the parking lot rather than the park we usually park in with shade, NO SHADE NEEDED!!!!  Brrrrr!!!  Within  about 30-40 minutes, 5 coaches arrived!!!
We went to eat at Shooters, knowing they were good from GNR days. Oh, and I can't forget.....Mike got bbq sauce on his glasses so he was cleaning them and dropped them in his plate!!!!!!!!

 Snow area....strange.... only along ditches before and after this area!!!!

March 19, 2016. Hamilton, Iowa

Valley View Rv Park....here we are.  Fun day!  Stopped in Hamilton, Missouri after seeing billboard....NINJA MOOSE BREWERY.  Well, you know Mike!  So we made a side trip.  Some pretty good beers.  Then went down the road to a shop and swap of Amish.  Really cold and windy.  Got a raspberry fried pie and went back to coach and made coffee.  Think those Amish guys envied our warm coach!!  Annnnd we bought raspberry rolls and onion cheese bread...mmmmm.

Back roads back to I-35...some more than once!   Snow!!  Off and on.

March 18,2016

Left Fort Smith this a.m. about 10.  Cloudy and drizzling.  Stopped to refuel and my door was open.  Guy at tank says"bet y'all are havin a good time".  Says he envied us and wants he and his wife to do this one day.  I told him to do as soon as you can!!  Mike finished pumping , got in , we said our good byes and left.   Get down to our exit and a car pulls up making sign language to Mike.  We pull up and open door to him , it was the guy from the station, and he says, "you didn't pay for your gas".   I gasped, OMGOSH, MICHAEL!!!  I thanked him for not calling the cops!!!  We went back to station and as Mike walked in, one of the cashiers says, "there's my drive off".  Told them he felt like an idiot!!  Didn't pay at pump and just forgot to go in!!

March 16-17, 2016. Traveling to Iowa

Camped in Atlanta, Tx last night.  Left this a.m. about 10.  Had some dark skies and a few rain showers on way to Fort Smith, Arkansas for the nite.

Sept. 2015

We met up with Mike and Kathy Todd at Lake City and had a ball sight seeing in their jeep, eating out, visiting with friends at campground.  Then we traveled over the mountains to NM and met up with Truman and Beckie Dobbins.  They enjoyed carting us around as they'd been there a while.  Stayed in a new campground owned by Bobby Ortega.  Went to Red River and met up with our friends John and Dale from Livingston.  Taos, Santa Fe, White Sands, Riudoso and more!

 In late October and we went to Richmond Virginia to visit my daughter, Kari and Traci her friend. Parked in their drive and Mike  had a man cave in the coach while us girls crafted and shopped and all the girl things. My bestie , Pam , went with us. We even had Sophie with us to see Kari!  Great time!  Today traveling to Iowa for little fixes at winni factory.

Did a drive by at THE STANLEY HOTEL.  Wanted to charge us 10.00 to park and look.
