MIRAMAR BEACH FLORIDA FEBRUARY 11, 2017


Drove to Miramar Beach Florida today and checked in to Camp Gulf RV Resort. Our site was not "tooooo bad" as you can see from our pictures. I must say, being retired is a really tough life!!!



















And when they say CAMP ON THE GULF.......they are not kidding!!!  Mike called 1 month prior and they happened to have 3 nites ON THE BEACH!!!!  Sand like talcum powde.r









































Water was cold but we went in up to waist one day.




 Drove down the road a few miles and stopped in to surprise Joe and Mary McPherson Sanders and maybe have a few cold ones........................but no one was home!!!!! WHAT A BUMMER! so we stopped by Jerry Jones house and he invited us in for cocktails.

GULF SHORES ALABAMA FEB 2017


 Drove to Gulf Shores Alabama for a couple days and checked into Island Retreat RV Park. Drove all around the area searching for shells and took a ferry trip to Dauphin Island today for sightseeing and more beach combing.








HAD to stop for cinnamon rolls !!!!!  They did not disappoint,  The BEST EVER!!

On way from Alaska last year, Mike says,"How bout we look for another coach?"  O K!!!

Headed to Florida as of 3-5-2017
First overnite stop  Egan, La.  My Moms cousin, Joy came over and visited.  I hadn't seen her in 35 years.  We keep in touch on fb,








Ahhhh, New Orleans. Ponchatrain Landing RV park Feb. 6 and dinner at the  park restaurant,    Weather in the 70;s, windy.






March 7, into town by way of the park shuttle to take a Grey Line tour of N.O. after watching a film on Katrina at the park office,  Rained most of tour with a stop at the arboretum and cafe for cafe aulait and binguets.   Much history of the city and Katrina,  Then we took off to explore the french quarter,















Finished up our time in New Orleans today. We camped one night at Cajun Haven RV Park in Egan before checking in to Ponchartrain Landing in New Orleans. Yesterday we took a bus tour of the city and learned all about New Orleans, the history and all about the Creole people. Then we walked through the French Market, sampled some awesome beignets, pralines, beers, etc. We then strolled down Bourbon street gawking at all the crazy people and places, listened to some great music and had a great dinner at Pier 24 Seafood Market. Today we took a riverboat dinner cruise on the SS Natchez.........great food, drinks and jazz.
