FORT DAVIS, TEXAS AND COOK OUT

MARFA LIGHTS AND PAISANO HOTEL MARCH 2015
Drove to MARFA taking Marilyn and Dave Neel with us. Had cocktails at the HISTORIC PAISANO HOTEL in town waiting for dark. Drove out Hwy 90 to see THE LIGHTS. Thought we saw them only to find out what we saw was cars on a hill. " Lights" are in front of the red light we saw. And we didn't see MARFA LIGHTS!!!!!
FORT DAVIS STATE PARK MARCH 2015 SCENIC LOOP and SUNSET IN PARK
Drove the Davis Mts. Scenic Loop Hwy 118 to 166. Didn't see any wildlife....just cattle on some ranches. This is SAWTOOTH MTS. and below that is POINT OF ROCKS. Historical marker in memory of STAGE DRIVERS through the area,
Ron and Sally Clyburn with us.. after eating at BLACKBEAR LODGE.
Not a cloud in the sky. Sunsets here in west Texas are not as pretty as home.

After breakfast with others at the GHOST TOWN of TERLINGUA, we drove to Fort Davis State Park. Star Party at McDonald Ovservatory that night!!!

Drive to the border.
Ok, I don't really need the cane but it helps when in up and down terrain. They wouldn't let us take them over.

Walk to the Rio Grand River crossing.
This is the river crossing......in a flat bottom boat. He says it's only about 5 ft deep here. We paid 5.00 each to cross. The $ goes to the owner of the International Ferry crossing and these guys get paid 20.00 a day and tips.

Felix, our guide took us to the his sisters restaurant.............tacos and tamales......no cheese......no guac. tastey!!!
