FORT LAUDERDALE RODEWAY INN APRIL 6-7, 2016

Sooo, coffee and breakfast in bed by MIKEY!!  Ok, so I don't get ready so fast in the mornings!!
Had the shuttle take us to drop off for HOP OFF, HOP ON, WATER TAXI.
Cruised the Intracoastal waterway with descriptions of the bazillion $ homes of the rich and famous.  ....not to mention the 1 to 3 yachts docked in front!!  We were told of  1 who ordered 8 yachts!! Takes 5 months to build 1.  He has since sold several.  Saw home of Lucy and Ricky and Sonny and Cher.

Stopped off for happy hour.  Walked to the beach.  Should have worn swim suits😒.

Had dinner at Margaritaville in Hollywood after passing Port Everglades and watching the huge cranes in operation loading ships.

Friday we wanted to go to the beach and hang out.  Shuttle was too $ so we hung out at the motel pool.  Not bad.  Windy, warm, heated pool....between Az. And the pool.......we got our tan on for the cruise  .Us, the Farleys and Clyburns arrived and we all met at the motel restaurant.  Happy hour and all were hungry, so appetizers were in order inside the restaurant.  Later we moved to the patio and ordered dinner.  They claim computer went down so only our order went in. We got our food and Clyburns and Farleys watched us eat.  Then we found out about the computer, yadayadA.  Clyburns order came out so we watched them eat.  Finally, Farleys orders came out and we watched them eat.  Couple managers, waitress apologized all over themselves.  We're going to give table of 6 two desserts.  Harry talked them into 1per couple.  What a fiasco!!!

April 5, 2016. San Diego

Great drive through the dessert......until........70 miles east oh SD at about Jacumba.  Blue smoke rolling out the back of coach, loosing power!!  Found pullout.  Mike made phone calls and was advised.....DONT DRIVE IT!!!  This was about 1pm ish.  1:30...wrecker on the way.  They didn't tell us from where because at 7:2O he showed up!  We arrived at the CAT CO. 10: ish.  Camped out on the street.  Taxi to airport in a.m.  Flew to Houston then to Ft L.  By midnight ish we were at hotel.

April 3-4, Yuma, Az

Brad and Rose Mudgett were attending rallies at  Del fortunate RV, a Cal-Cam resort (man , Palm Creek s got um all beat!!). Spent 2 days  in the pool!  Nice.  Many snow birds have left the park deserted!
2nd night, Brad and Rose came to play cards after dinner.  Prior to dinner, we had $2 drinks at the pool and listened to two guys strumming and singing!

April 2, 2016 Palm Creek RV Resort.,....Phoenix, AZ

This place is the BOMB!!!!

I went to Walmart for grocery run and Pedicure.  When I returned, Mike was in the hot tub and I got a cart ride from Phil to the pool.  People congregate and visit.  Lots of Canadians.  Heard someone say 75 people left the park today with 200 leaving yesterday!!!  Time for the snow birds to fly away home!!!!

Golf course, no carts.  The park has a dog and a no dog area. I wanna go back and stay awhile!!!!!!!















4 0'clock is happy hour.  Neighborhoods gather the visit and tell travel stories!!!

We had gone out to a Mexican Rest. the night before.  Their first time there.....maybe their last!!!!




Steph made chicken fajitas and quac with fresh tortilas and chips from Food King.....YUM, YUM!!!  Mike made a pitchr of margaritas!!!



Strawberries and ice cream for dessert!!!

Wow!!! didn't realize mountains in AZ.!!

Beautiful hiways in Phoenix,   Bouganvilas blooming!!

Stopped in Phoenix Palm Creek Golf and RV resort.....and RESORT it is!!!!!  This park as Mike has some old work buddies here from Ruidoso, NM staying here,  Beautiful place.  We were hoping we could get a spot near them, or one at all, what with all the snow birds here,

And we got a spot 5 spaces from Philip and Stephanie Bishop!!!

March 31, 2016 Thursday. NM and AZ.

Arrived at RT66 RV park off I40,RT 66.... Now, SUN VALLEY RVpark.  Looks like they're trying to improve.

Drove to PAINTED DESERT AND PETRIFIED FOREST.  W O W!!!!  Loved it!

Petrified logs....timbers laid on the bottom of rivers, floods, etc. and collected volcanic ash and silt smothering out O2 for the microorganixms, therefore halting the rotting process   Thus, petrified logs!!!!



















These logs are probably 200 million yrs old.....dinosaur times. There's a dinosaur now!!!!!!

These are really beautiful.  you can see quartz and other gems in the trees.

This is the reconstructed Inn in the PAINTED /DESERT,  Now, adobe style, was originally built of Petrified woods from the area.  There are 6 rooms on the lower level that 3 housed employees and 3 guest rooms with a bed and sink.  community toilet.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 30, 2016 ALBEQUERQUE

Went to Petroglyphs Natl Park the half hour walk was 2 hours!  Gotta find the writings on the rocks!  Very windy but fun.
Walked the trail in the wind and chill.  Mike climbed some of the rocks.  Saw birds, jack rabbit, squirrels.

Less wind today so I was ready for the Sandia Peak tram!

This tram holds 50 people and goes up in about 15 mins. 2nd longest in the world.
