PORTAGE VALLEY RV PARK JULY 6, 2016 and HOPE

Drove up to Portage yesterday and checked in to Portage Valley RV Park. Today we drove to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and saw a lot of rescue animals. Also rode the tram to the top of the Alyeska ski area and had lunch at the top.

On the way to Portage we stopped at HOPE.  Neat little community which also sunk several feet in the 1964 earthquake.  Some of the buildings were moved and/or raised afterwards.

Very nice museum and display of artifacts. 

The cafes were closed today.  Guess they open at will!!!

It was cold and rainey couple days and the community campfire was nice.  Also had grills and tables.
