KENAI JUNE 28, 2016 BELUGA RV PARK SALMON FISHING

Drove to Kenai yesterday and checked in to Beluga RV Park on a bluff overlooking the mouth of the Kenai river. Today we did a half day 5 hour king salmon fishing charter and was SOOOOOO close to bringing a fish home.

 Stopped to buy firewood and saw a pair of these beauties in the yard there.  SANDHILL CRAINS

 Had a very nice fire pit/cook top but never got to use it!!!  Looking on the Cook Inlet in Kenai.

 Set the hook!!!!!!

So excited!!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Just before we got him in the guide broke the news..............  might be TOO BIG!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Yep!!!!!!!!!!!!  HAS TO BE 42 IN OR LESS...................HE WAS 43INCHES!!!!!  I could have cried!!!!

GOOD BYE FISH!!!!!!!!!

Started raining pretty good.  Kept moving around to find more fish.  The woman with us caught  a salmon just before 6pm when we had to quit.  We left empty handed...............but great adventure and memory.
