VALDEZ, ALASKA JUNE 10, 2016

Today we took a 7 hr. cruise to the Colombia Glacier around the Valdez Arm in Prince William Sound.  Left at 11am and was served clam chowder or minestrone soup, bagel, cream cheese and cookies and drink.

Yes, it was cold up top once the boat got going!!!
This lil guy stays warm with extra fur and rolling in the water to trap air under his fur.

Pigeon Gallimot

This brackish water is called the MORAINE.  Some of the glacier with trash, mud and rocks washing out to water.  Some of the smaller ice melts within 24 hrs.

 The otters are the cutest!!
Colombia Glacier much smaller than 40+ years ago.  The MORAINE we are riding thru was once part of the glacier,  Alaska is the most glaciated area in the world......more than Switzerland.

When the ice is blue, this was the part previously under water.  They tend to tip over.
Sea lions resting.  Theyre so heavy they must get out of the water to rest.

Saw several whales blowing.  Cynthia caught this shot so I used hers.

Jerry and Cynthia were with us in our park for a few days, also.  We meet up here and there.  Fun!!
