so.............we pulled into a little ole campground on the alaska highway next to a river for the night. I think this place was built about the time they finished the highway. we got our spot and hooked up the shore line to the 30 amp box and could not get power into the coach. my progressive electric monitor system showed a reverse polarity fault so it would not engage the coach to the pedestal. of course all the 30 amp boxes had no fuse, were loose on the post and open to the elements. so I was close to another one and connected to it..............this time it was low voltage, 104-106. I could reach one other one and connected to it...............reverse polarity again. I believe 3 strikes and you are out so I fired up the generator and went to the office and got my money back. lesson for everyone............you need to have a progressive EMS or similar for your rig, not a cheap "SURGE PROTECTOR". you need a system that will check all the conditions of the power before it connects to your rig otherwise you can have severe electrical problems in your rig. my EMS has saved me several times mostly at old state parks where I have found low voltage problems, reverse polarity, no ground. if you dont have one you need to get one.
We had a nice drive today. Pretty, lush countryside after passing where the fires burned. No wild life. Rain off and on.
If you plan on staying here........keep driving!!!!!
