Tuesday-July 12
Look at this Welcome banner!! I did it myself. I am so proud of me for trying this first time project. I appliqued these letters using a sewing machine.
For lunch we headed to a highly recommended restaurant named Shooters. It was great! We went with our new friends and neighbors, the Autreys.
In the afternoon we sat around and caught up on the latest gossip.
Happy Hour started at 4:00 sharp with byob and snacks. Played Joker last night and whooped up!
Today we walked around and got to know where most everything is.
We went to the Winnebago Welcome Center and joined a tour of the facilities. Now that was neat to see how these motorhomes are built!!! Winnebago manufactures everything in the coach except the engine and chasis.
Happy Hour at 4:00 once again and for dinner we went to the Beer Garden, a short walk down the road, and had a burger and beer.
Tonight I played 2 games of Joker and was on the winning team once again.
Thursday-July 14
Had to get up early today for our tour. Our bus left for Decorah at 7:00AM We visited a Norwegian museum, very interesting! Met this scarey viking in one of the shops, but he was kinda cute.
Next we went to a winery. Our Texas wine is sooooooo much better!
The third place on our tour was Bily clocks. Wow! What unbelievable clocks! These were all hand carved by two men.
We had a busy and fun day but fortunately we made it back for Happy Hour!!!!!
So glad we didn't miss TAPS tonight. A group called MILWIT (military Winnebago/Itasca Travelers) is right along side of our 2 rows of Texas owners. Every morning at 7:00AM they play revalry and at 8:00PM they play Taps.
