THE BEGINNING MAY 5 - MAY 31, 2020

This blog was set up to capture our travels. For those of you that do not know our story this blog should help bring you up to date.

What a busy month May turned out to be.  During the midst of COVID 19, I met this interesting man that would very shortly become  my soul mate, something that neither of us expected.

We met at a mutual friends home.  I had gone to stay with them for several days to visit.  During this time he had come back into town from a trip to Arizona and called to see if the invitation to stop by for a visit was still open.  It was and that night he stopped by for a visit with Ron and Sally Clyburn, they knew him from one of the RV clubs that each of them belonged to. The following day he called to thank Sally for the visit, at the end of the conversation he said to her would you give JoAnn my phone number and if she wants to call me she can. After several hours I built up the courage and called him.  And as they say  the rest is history.

The first two days of us knowing each other was spent with a game of "How many questions will you answer?"  Each of us taking turns asking and answering questions.  Questions relating to favorite foods, foods you do not like, length of marriage, number of marriages, travels and of course bucket list.

We were both amazed at the number of experiences is our lives crossed over to the other.  Our likes and dislikes that we shared.  Our desires in life that we both wanted to fulfill, together if that is what we chose after these meetings.  We had no idea where we were headed.  We let God take over and continue working on the relationship. After all it was his work that brought us together.  We could not have planned it as well.

May 5, our first date.  We went to the boardwalk at Kemha.  Walked around talking and continued asking each other probing questions, had lunch at Bubba Gumps and then this wonderful gentleman took me home.

At this point in our relationship I was in the closet, a secret that was not discussed on public media. Mike had to go to Ohio to help with his mother, he asked me to accompany him. I did. We became much closer as we worked together taking shifts to help take care of his mother.

May 31
Good morning all. I have a very special request for today. A little over a week ago I met a really wonderful person and we became friends. Today I am asking for prayers for her. You see she is on hospice care and has been having some bad days. She is ready to go meet the Lord, but I think he says it is not her time yet. Could we all pray for a very peaceful transition for her and that she is comfortable throughout the rest of her journey.

This is a picture of Mike and his Mom 2 days before she passed away, her energy day. The 3 of us had a lot of laughs and fun for about an hour.

Thank you all of your prayers. My friend passed away at 8:30 tonight. She was very comfortable and pain free when she left us. Again thank you for your prayers.
