Had a good Mexican lunch and rested for our evening tour. LANTERN STAR TOUR.
These names were written on the ceiling with a candle attached to a stick. This is what they call the REGISTRY. Names have all been recorded. 1836 was the earliest date we saw recorded. Slaves were brought here to give tours and many of them received generous tips.Doing the writing, the slaves learned to read and write and even learn some foreign languages No salary, just tips from the wealthy northeasterners who came to tour the cave.
Think this is the GIANTS COFFIN.
